North is going to win this one. BE is struggling through some injury problems and we would need to be in full strength just to stay in the game.

 

I see it 42-21. I hope not but they key is for BE to get healthy for the playoffs.

 

Is RD back? If so will he play QB or WR?

Reynolds is back and will likely be at QB although the Mayberry kid has obviously earned some time there as well. Injuries may be a setback for East but North will realize that East could easily be 5-1 or 4-2 right now and they obviously played fairly well in their one losses to Woodford, Marion and Louisville Central.

I think at full strength it would be a close game, but with injuries I'm not sure we can stay in it.

 

I hope I'm wrong. After some pretty cheap play from our last two opponents .. I just hope it's a clean game.

The way Bullitt East has treated oppenents, especially county rivals, the arrogant and classless shutout t-shirts, student section at the end of the field, etc. could really come back and bite them in the behind on Thursday night.

I have seen the shirts and witnessed the students in the end zone. Neither used any profanity or contained degrading comments. I believe the shirts were given out a couple of years ago as a reward for hard work. The shirts contained motivational sayings on the front with the scores on the back.

 

 

I agree that this will be a fun game to watch. Both teams have a lot of pride.

I will have to differ with you BIG time on that one. I have seen many a "If they don't score... " shirts worn by BE players. I have yet to see a motivational saying on one of them. IMO any shirt that is distributed to players / parents to wear in the school or community that rubs in a final score in a sarcastic way (especially over a struggling program - i.e. - Atherton 80-0) is absolutely both "arrogant" and "classless". I feel that it goes against what high school kids should learn and take from their time and commitment.

 

I wish both teams the best. This is a big game with a lot on the line.

I don't see anything wrong with the t-shirts. They say "if they don't score then we can't lose" or something like that. It's not offensive at all. BE players always conduct themselves with class on the field and that is what is important.

 

BE players don't grab and twist ankles in pileups or land blatant cheap shots on someone who just ran for a TD. North doesn't either and I expect a good clean game tonight.

 

Rewarding the kids with a t-shirt for shutting out an opponent is a far cry from the things I witnessed at Marion two weeks ago.

Well said mh2365. Most of the shirts had things on the front like “Determination” etc. I don’t consider the players or fans to be “arrogant or classless”. The intention was not to rub in score, just to motivate players.
