This game was paintsville's first challenge of the season. No offense to the teams paintsville has played so far this, but Prestonsburg is a good football team.

I left at half time.

The teams that Paintsville has played so far is there district opponents so its not really there fault, but I totally agree that this was there first test. Paintsville has a tough road ahead of them in the later part of the season and I cant see them pulling out a game from here on out.

Congrats to the Blackcats on the win. I really thought this one would be more lopsided. Did P-burg call off the dogs in the 2nd half cause I heard they totally dominanted Paintsville in the 1st half.

The score wasn't more lopsided because Prestonsburg ran a very conservative offensive game plan (moreso than I've seen in a long time). I think there was only 3 or 4 pass attempts. Don't know if Coach D. had kinks to work out of the inside game, or he just wanted to show as little as possible. It was like watching 70's era football...

Paintsville never threatened to score. Their deepest penetration was around the P-burg 37. The Tigers need to get better in the trenches. Prestonsburg's smaller line outplayed Paintsville on both sides.

Good win for the Blackcats.

Let's see; conservative game plan, good line play, all red uniforms. Sounds very familiar. :D

Seriously, Prestonsburg wearing the all red uniforms, what happened to the black?

The first thing I thought when I saw them in pre-game was "it's been awhile since they've worn the bloodclot uni's".

P-burg's been known to mix-n-match. While black/black and white/black is used most, they've worn the red/red a few times before. Some night I'd like to see a red/black combo - that might be cool.

Paintsville's home jersey is a fairly dark shade of blue. Maybe that was the reason, too...:sssh:

That was kind of my thinking by the score. Prestonsburg is way better than a 28 point win over Paintsville. I hope that this is the approach that Johnson Central uses in its matchup with Paintsville. Just keep it between the tackles without using Grimm and use this game as a tune up in the passing game.

Agreed...but you know how that particular game can be.

I'd look for Coach Matney to go conservative...AFTER the Eagles score 5 or 6 TD's or halftime, whichever is later.

;)
