BlueChip
I have heard that Beechwood Freshman play Lloyd, NCC, Newport, and Holy Cross each two times. Does anyone have any insight as to why Beechwood is not playing any class A schools on the Freshman level?
Coachg13207
Apparently none of the A schools are able to field a freshman only team . Some schools are mixing freshman and sophmores and playing other schools doing the same .I do not know who those schools are ,but this is my understanding . All Play No Work
I have heard that Beechwood Freshman play Lloyd, NCC, Newport, and Holy Cross each two times. Does anyone have any insight as to why Beechwood is not playing any class A schools on the Freshman level? Beechwood will join Lloyd, NCC, and Holy Cross and each team will play the other twice with only Frosh. The smaller A schools Dayton, Brossart, Bellevue, and Ludlow are going to field Frosh/Soph teams because sometimes it is tough to get enough Frosh to field a Frosh team without using 8th or 7th graders. Better competition to have games with 18-20 Frosh/Sophs playing each other than trying to field a team with 10 Frosh and 4 eighth graders. Beechwood obviously usually has enough Frosh to compile a straight Frosh team as do the 2A schools.
