2007/2008 Ashland

Featured Replies

What does Ashland need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They will be successful under Coach Biggs, but how much so is going to depend a lot on developing some additional talent. They will need to be a little stronger in their 1st 5 & a little deeper overall this season & next with the 16th having as much good young talent as it has with Elliott Co & RH. These are the 2 teams they will have to go thru if they want to get to Rupp.

The level of talent, according to most, is on the decline. Therefore, I suppose Ashland, for short term success, needs some "transfers" or foreign exchangers.

Imo Ashalnd will be just fine. With the coaching/leadership of Coach Biggs they are in very capable hands. I like in every year put them in with the top teams of the 16th region. Ashland has a tradition to say the least. The Tomcats aren't the winningest program in the history of the State of Kentucky for nothing. Good luck to the Tomcats :thumb: , except for when and if you should play Raceland. ;)

As Rambler said, I'm not the biggest fan of Ashland, but I do respect the tradition of the school.

Every year the same questions come up regarding talent on the court, coaching off the court, etc, etc. They always play a brutal schedule early on, including A LOT of road games in December. Which usually might lead to a less than impressive record. More questions are raised and next thing you know they get hot in January, February and are right there to make a run in March.

They could start 5 8th graders with no previous experience and they would still find a way to win 15 games and be in place to win district and compete at Morehead.

:thumb: :thumb: Great post here HC, I agree and with the exception of my obvious loyalty to Raceland I an Ashland fan.

The CATS will be fine. They will struggle early with their schedule, but will finish in the hunt. Matt Thomas and Ryan Bonner will be their leaders and some of the younger players will step up.

I was told one of this years Tomcats played in a 3on3 with NBA Player Tamar Slay, You can check it out at 13 WOWKtv. com ,click featured links and then click on Slay comes back to Huntington.:thumb:It was on the 11 Oclock News last night.

Who was it?

I keep hearing that since the Jackson's sold their home there is a good chance Brent will enroll at Ashland or Raceland, my brother says he has good friends on both teams
