Who does Carroll have the first round??

I think anyone could win because well on any given night, anything could happen! But watching Carroll and Walton this summer, they have the edge. Walton is coming together(after getting use to their new coaching) and Carroll just has some talent that will make them a solid team. Walton hopefully will play more aggressive, but I still think these two teams have the best chance to go to Richmond.

 

Carroll/Walton will be a good first round game. If Walton handles Carroll's pressure, I feel they will win. If they falter, Carroll would pull the mild upset (IMO). The winner will get Trimble whereas the winner of Gallatin/W'town will get Eminence. Not to take anything away from Eminence, but that draw will allow either Gallatin or Williamstown to rest some of their players for the Championship game. I am unsure about the depth of Carroll/Walton/Trimble, but this could be beneficial to Gallatin/Williamstown.

Carroll/Walton will be rough and exciting game. I think whoever win's this game will be starting their buses up for Richmond. I think Walton has some depth (the coach gave J.V players alot of playing time in the varsity games) which will help Walton's depth. And Carroll will have problems scoring but there "D" should create alot of their points this season off of turn-overs. Hopefully Walton can handle the full court press.

I do not understand..who's coach Gallatin or Williamstown. I have to say after watching both teams that they are very similar in style and size ( and age) so this will be a close match-up. Both are young and improving and I think that other than the Carroll/WV this may be the other nail biter.

I think WV will come on top of the Carroll game with Gallatin playing them in the finals. I think heeger will be the factor in the Gallatin game with a few 3's falling through the net, which will make WV the champs. Just my thinking!

How will their coach lose it? I would like to hear your rationale on this. I feel he has done a pretty good job. Their team had the mis-fortune of 3-4 players move (family moves) in the past 3-4 years that would have made them one of the best in the All "A" last year and this year.

Idk who will win the All A' no one really knows but I think that Walton will be the best al around team. If they face the pressure from the other teams then they'll be on top.

I was reading this information and wondered if anything had changed in the 8th as the year has progressed.

 

I did hear there was a low turnout of girls for basketball in some of the smaller schools, but I guess it is quality not quantity that matters.

 

I think this year is going to be exciting with so many young teams improving throughout the year. As soon as V-ball ends - 3 of CC's key players can begin conditioning and start thinking about basketball.

 

Any changes ..transfers..injuries ( I hope not )?

I think that Trimble is going to surpirse alot of you. With Miller Underneath, rumors that their point guard has improved tramendously and all of them being good outside shooters, two of them coming up strong from last year, i wouldnt put it past them. They have 7 seniors that have good experience

If Trimble gets some good guard play, then they will be tough to handle due to Miller's size down low. Other than Schimer last year, I don't recall any other outside shooters. Who are the shooters this year?

Well their starter last year megan stewart, can make three's consecutively. Another Junior started for a while(Hannah Romans) until former player jessie caudill came back. Hannah still came off the bench first. The other strong shooter would be Angela Stethan who also had experience off the bench. Those three seniors along with their point guard will be the shooters to watch for.

I pretty much agree with your rankings. I like SK at #1...Tolliver looks very good & will be a contender for regional player of the year. I am interested to see what Shelby Co does this year. Gray is an exciting player. #6-10 I would also agree are an interesting group & any one of them could be a big surprise & pull way up & possibly push for a spot in the top 5. WV is a big question mark in my mind. I like Hargett. Anybody see anything of WV this summer? As far as a sleeper team, Grant Co. What I saw from the new coach & how some of the young players have developed (as well as a senior that did not play last season to injury who can shoot the 3) they had some very surprising moments during the summer session & improved dramatically from the start to finish for the summer session. You want to support your hometown team of course & at the same time try not to be biased, but Grant Co. actually surprised me this summer. Williamstown is always a scrappy, hardworking team. I would not underestimate what they can do as they mature.

Yeah I totally agree. With a school like grant should not have those teams on there list to play. They'll have a good record but wont have any good wins to prove how good there are or arent.
