Ryle looked sloppy until a breakout 6th inning. Elliot pitched well for Beechwood for the first 5 innings but ran into trouble in the sixth after some miscues.

How did they look sloppy w/only one error and it was a throwing error?

There was also a ball over the head of the right fielder IMO that should have been caught and probably the word sleepy would have been a better choice. This game could have got away.

Raiders come out swinging and put 4 quick runs up off Elliott then took an inning or two off at the plate until they picked it up again and kept the pressure on with bases loaded, plating runs on singles, walks and hit batsmen.

Elliott was relieved in the fith and it was pretty much over after that. J C Collins got the start for the Raiders but had trouble getting the ball down but with Ryle's deep pitching staff they were able to go with Hughes for one and Seabald to close it out.

I guess I hope for another sloppy effort tomorrow night.

I must go and look up the definition of slacker in the dictionary because I don't think that I saw anything close to that from Ryle. Good win for the Raiders. Good luck tomorrow night. Should be a good one.:thumb:

Can't please anybody can we? Had one guy complaining we only beat Ludlow by 10. Go figure.

Ryle has an interesting situation where I have seen 4 pitchers all throw with #1 stuff at times during the year (Collins, Hatfield, Hughes and Weis). Collins was not on his game tonight like when he beat CovCath 7-0. Just happens in baseball. I would guess Hatfield would start vs. CovCath with Hughes in relief again. Ryan Hughes did a super job tonight to stop the bleeding as the Beechies were knocking JC all around the yard. Sebald was terrific in the closer role in his one inning. Ryle has good pitching options for the final game.

I thought it was more of a linedrive than fly ball ( A hump back liner if you will ) that was hit pretty solid .I believe it landed on the track or close to it .It would of been a great catch if he could of came up with it .

I thought Ryle looked good ,this was my first view of them .They seemed to keep there composure while BW hang in and kept chipping at them .I wonder if Ryle would of pressed more if BW had taken the lead in the inning they tied it at 4 .I believe they left a runner at 3rd .

I am sure no one expected the game to be tied going to the bottom of the 6th .A couple people just arriving for the next game mentioned they were shocked .

Elliot actually did not pitch his best ,as he hasn't fo a couple outings now . Word is he is working thru an injury .This was not said to take anything away from Ryle .They hit the ball well and earned the win .Congrats

Ryle did look good except for one sloppy play in the top of the 7th. Ryle and CovCath were both glad that games go 7 innings. Interesting that both teams broke open tight games in the bottom of the 6th. Two good teams in what should be a great regional final.
