June 6, 200719 yr I'm tellin' you man, it's perhaps the most underrated of all of the View Askew saga. Jason Lee has so many great lines, it's almost a crime. Plus, it's how I first fell in love with Claire Forlani. Walter's cat and Superman's baby come to mind.

June 6, 200719 yr "Mallrats" is easily an American classic. Best part of it, the only thing dated about it is the music, but said music is still cool enough it doesn't matter. For instance, great early '90s groups on the soundtrack include: Belly Weezer GVB Sublime Wax Elastica The soundtrack was so good, I can overlook the fact that an awful band like Bush appeared on it.
June 6, 200719 yr One of the funniest things about "Mallrats" is the fact that on the cover of the videotape, Shannen Doherty is displayed quite prominently, despite the fact that it becomes obvious within the first 15 minutes that Jason Lee is the star. Guess that was right around the time 90210 was popular; a series I'm not the least bit sad that I didn't watch. I'm guessing the original DVD, and of course the reissue, doesn't have Ms. Doherty displayed so prominently on the cover. I will give her credit, tho. This was probably her best role, and she was quite good.

June 6, 200719 yr Revisitng "Mallrats" forced me to also revisit "Clerks" for old time's sake. It's been a few years since I last saw Clerks, I think it's about that time.
June 6, 200719 yr It's been a few years since I last saw Clerks, I think it's about that time. I'm not a big movie fan, but if a flick has great dialogue, I'm sold. And most of the View Askew Saga has great dialogue in spades. "You know what I could do without? The people in the video store." "Which ones?" "All of them."
