volfan782000 Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Williamsburg picks up win number 17 tonight as Will Moses and Raymond Surber combine for the win. Will and Ryan Moses good nights at the plate, and Aaron Root cracks a 3 run Homer to break a tight game open. Can any from Bell tell me what happened to Tommy Greer tonight, he left the field during, I think, the third and never returned.
nomorenoles Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Surber did a nice job of finishing this one on the hill.
volfan782000 Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 Surber did a nice job of finishing this one on the hill. Yes he did. I think he is going to be a fine pitcher as he gains experience. Pretty good kid from what I can tell.
Bubba Wilson Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 How many homers has Root hit this season? It seems like when the Big Orange needs a swing, Root always delivers. Jackets are a dangerous team and seem to be peaking at the right time of the year.

The kid has good gap power and is hitting the ball on the nose right now.
THE_ANAMIAL Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Would love to dance again as that would mean we finally beat Corbin...lol who's Corbin's Ace? they never showed him against us.Corbin seems to struggle on hiting offspeed stuff.

Col. Fitzgerald Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I heard Hamlin may go in game one of the district.
Bubba Wilson Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 With Root hitting the cover off the ball the Hounds might have to use both Hedrick and Hamlin to advance. Jackets got another impressive win over Cumberland today, so the Big Orange Machine is still rolling.

Root is hitting really well right now, but don't forget Ryan Moses has been hot, and Will Moses seems to be getting it back together as he had a big triple today. But honestly to beat Corbin the Jackets will need more production from 5-9 in the order, and will have to get past looking at that big "C" on the hat.
Bubba Wilson Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Seems like this group of Jackets plays with a lot of confidence. I would have to agree that the Tradition of Corbin baseball is very strong as well.
4chs Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Would love to dance again as that would mean we finally beat Corbin...lol The district opener is very scary to me. :scared: Williamsburg is one of the top five teams in the region and it's on their home field...........and they owe Corbin a loss or two. The good news is that Williamsburg will handle winning with class if they do come out on top.:thumb:
Cinderella Man Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Williamsburg has a very solid team, and I look for them to make a little noise in the postseason. I watched them play in the Queen City where they lost 4 straight winnable games by a combined 5 runs. These guys could've quit after a stretch like that, but they hung in there, and I think they may reap the benefits of coming together. It should also be noted that all 4 teams they lost to in that tournament have winning records, so it's not like they lost to nobodys.
