Florida 10. Kentucky Now, I've never been a big touter of SEC basketball, but if UK is the 10th best team in the conference next year, I feel confident that the SEC will be far and away the best conference in the land. Maybe it's just my homerism that is blinding me to the facts, because I'll admit, I don't know an inordinate amount about several of those SEC schools. The SEC isn't the best conference in the country. Top to bottom, they are well rounded, but not the best. Let's take a look at the numbers. Based on the Pre Season early picks for the top 25: Pac 10 has 6 teams in the top 25. Big East has 5 teams in the top 25. ACC has 4 teams in the top 25. Big 12 has 2 teams in the top 25. Big 10 has 2 teams in the top 25. And last but not least, SEC has 2 teams in the top 25. IMO Pac 10 could very well have the best conference this upcoming season. Not saying a team from there will win the national championship, but top to bottom, they're more solid than any other conference from the early looks of things.

You don't have to try and convince me...I was merely stating my opinion that UK will be better than #10 in the SEC next year, and if they aren't, the SEC will be the best conference...or UK will be far worse than I'm expecting. You'll rarely ever hear me say the SEC is the best basketball conference. As for these pre-pre-season rankings...they are the epitome of meaningless rankings. But, they make for good conversation starters and talking points I suppose.
