Corbin Vs. Williamsburg

Featured Replies

Could there be another district split or will one team take both games? Both games should be very interesting to watch, depending on who pitches.

These two games could determine the district's #1 seed. Corbin clinches with a sweep, but if Williamsburg sweeps or if they split the seeding will get very interesting.

I would expect Shelley & Witt to throw for the Burg with Hedrick & Hamlin for the Hounds.

I'm not sure how the pitching goes but with Wburg playing Paintsville Friday in the All "A" sectional Coach Strickland will want to have both these boys available to pitch in that game.

Don't know how this will go down, but I will say this, Williamsburg scratches and claws to the end. Getting great senior leadership from Root and Witt, timely hittting by those two as well as Ryan and Will Moses. The great thing about this team is they have a really good "no stars" attitude. I really enjoy watching how gritty this team has been. Don Strickland and staff are doing a great job, and the additional help from retired Cumberlands coach Terry Stigall with the pitching, and David Root with hitters and catchers has been sloid. With Shelly and Witt on the mound, and with the development of Root and Will Moses toeing the rubber, the pitching staff is rounding into form. Right now, Witt, both the Moses boys, and Aaron Root have been tearing the cover of the ball, and some timely clutch hitting by Conlin and Teague, have made this offense much better. I look for a fun night at the ballpark this week when these two meet.

Should be very interesting but Corbin has had Willianmsburg's number the last couple of years. The All A effects Williamsburg's ability to use their pitchers. Hamlin and Hedrick will probably to much for Williamsburg. Witt and Hamlin played on the same little league team. I hope they are matched up.

Witt and Hamlin sure did play on the same little league team and have remained close friends. I look for both games to be close and interesting. Good luck to both teams

Didn't Teague play on that same little league team?
