2007 Union County

Featured Replies

What does Union County need to do to improve in 2007? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Union County is going to have an uphill struggle next season.

1. They need to hire a new coach. The adminstration has drawn this process out long enough. They have already missed the spring ball opportunities. It will become more difficult to fill a staff as the year goes on. School is almost out.

2. The new coach needs a bigger budget. The budget is now $4,000. Wow!

3. They need to somehow make it a big deal to play football again. Several "old-timers" want football to be back. I am not sure the administration sees that. I admit that with the shrinking enrollment and the loss of the Coal Severance money that things are tight for the school system, but a committment must be made.

I don't look forward to much success this season. There is a good crop of young players coming up, but the new coach needs to overhaul the program and bring some enthusiasm to the program.

Good luck to the home of the "BRAVES"!

They hired a guy from Indiana. Getting the best athletes out for the team has to be his top priority.

I agree. There is some speed in Morganfield, if they can get them to play, Union Co can compete.
