April 14, 200719 yr OK, let's go further why Kobe should not be MVP. Not one game, but the whole season. The Lakers starter out 26-13, and some of those wins came without Kobe early in the season. Since Jan. 26th the Lakers have went a terrible 14-27 and they have not beat a team with a winning record in weeks. So how can he be the MVP when his team has a .500 record and is well under .500 since late January to boot? Nash or Nowitski should win it, no doubt about and after last night I can't see Kobe even coming close. Heck, the Lakers run at the beginning of the fourth quarter was with Kobe on the bench. He forced shots as soon as he came in and once again his me first attitude came shinning through.
April 15, 200719 yr Give Kobe Amare, Barbosa, Marion, and Bell and then well talk /\ /\ /\ enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's easier to score for Nash because he's not constantly being double and triple teamed every night because he has teammates that can hit shots as well......Kobe on the other hand doesnt have a Marion or Amare which makes it a lot easier to get your points,,,,,,Nash isn't even the best player on his team,,,,,when Amare is healthy he is what takes that team as far as they go. I play a lot of basketball and trust me its a lot easier to score and play good when you have other good players on your team,,,,,,All every team that plays the lakers has to do is double and triple gaurd Kobe because he has no help!!!!!! Dirk is more deserving then Nash because he doesn't have half the support Nash has.

Without Nash the Suns may be a playoff team but they are far from one of the NBA elite.

I was not directing any negative comments your way, sorry if you took it that way.
April 15, 200719 yr Actually that is a little hard to believe since last year Amare missed most of the season and the Suns ALMOST made it to the NBA finals without him. Almost doesn't count. Look at what Dirk did last year with less than what Nash has. Nash makes the players around him better but the players around him make him look even better, by hitting the shots, cutting to the basket, etc. I would like to see Nashs numbers if he was on a team without a supporting cast and was getiing double and triple teamed every night. A great supporting cast is always going to make you look better than someone who doesnt have a supporting cast that has to do it all on his own. Don't get me wrong Nash is a great player but without the supporting cast he has i dont think he would be that great.

Now, I am not saying that the Lakers are just as good without Kobe but it does seem that they are able to adjust. Nash on the other hand, when he missed games the Suns are 2-4 without him and an incredible 58-15 with him playing. And yes, almost does'nt count but the fact remains that even without Amare the Suns made it to the conference finals, and Nash led them to that.

They were lucky the Lakers collapsed in the first round last year or they would have been out in the first round.
