50th District

Featured Replies

How is the 50th shaping out this year? South made it to state last year. Did they lose much? I know Whitley lost a lot. Corbin? Williamsburg? All 4 teams were in the top 5 in the region on the khsaa.org site for last season. All 4 teams also pulled big upsets against region teams. Who will be on top this year?

South is #1 with Corbin close behind. Whitley lost a lot but they have a really good coach who will have them improve significantly as the year goes along. Williamsburg has 2 pitchers capable of beating any of the other teams in Shelley and Witt but have got to catch the ball better this year. This should be a good year in the 50th.

Am I being biased, or does the 50th district seem to be the strongest district in most every sport in the 13th region, both boys and girls.

From my understanding, that is how some of the other schools with some pull wanted it. South Laurel & Corbin going to the same district along with an up & coming Whitley county is how they wanted it to play out.

It sounds like Williamsburg got the short end of the stick.
