To the folks that follow the 10th Region religiously, when was the last time that Deming and Augusta made the regional tournament?

 

Don't hold me to it but I think Augusta made it last year... Not sure though.

Deming lost to Mason Co

Since 1976 Deming has been to the Regional Tournament the following years.

Before 1976 I'm not to sure. I do know they were District Champs in 1963. They also went one other time in the early 70's just not for sure on the exact year.

I hadn't checked the regional pairings from last year.

 

I knew that Augusta went...mainly because of those on this site....LOL.

 

With all the kidding aside, it's good to see schools that size out together consecutive regional appearances. Congrats to those players and coaches from those programs.

They won the district in 1995 but not 1994.

They won in 1994 defeating Pendleton CO. in double overtime at Pendleton Co. Staggs and HOuchens were juniors. Their senior year 1995 they got beat by Pendleton in the finals at Deming. Check the banner at the Dome and you will see I'm right!

This will be the third time since 1937 that Augusta and Deming both have been in the 10th Region tournament. 1977 was the first time that it happened and 2006 was the second.

you know what your right... it was 1994 that they won. I do apologize. I was trying to block the memory of that years district tourney. Pendleton beat us in 1994 7 on 5 (if you know what I mean). We had 2 i believe foul out before halftime and 5 techniacl in the first half also...

 

How close was that 1995 game?

The 1995 game was less than 10 points. I think it was more like 7. Not for sure. Did you play in the 1994 tournament?

No I did not play, but I was a senior that year and remember it well.
