West Carter School did the right thing. That was no small incident that could be over looked. Good job WC !

I like Michael, pretty good kid. But if you make a mistake there has to be consequences. I would have loved to see him get to play, but what message does that send later in life. In the post game, Coach Webb was very candid in saying that the punishment was deserved. When you bend rules for certain people, it can really cause problems down the road. I applaud Michael for being there to support his teammates, Coach Webb for taking the high road and not trying to get some court injunction or something to allow him to play and the school personnel who did their job.

 

It was sad to see Michael on the bench in street clothes, but lessons need to be learned and letting him "off the hook" so he can play would not be the lesson needed.

 

I really think we are doing kids a disservice when we don't show them that there are consequences for actions taken. If they are protected now, they will expect it later!

I agree West Staff did a great job....Due to the degree of the accident and what all happened it was something that just could not be brushed off....Hate to see a kid leave like that... Congrats on the rest of West's team for battling and playing hard..... Showed some of that Comet Pride that Coach Webb has been putting in to his players this year...
