The Neers of Simon Kenton won the JV Championship beating Boone County 52-40.

Congrats...but isn't Simon Kenton in the 8th region? How were they even allowed in the 9th Region Tourney?

It was at SK, but I was wondering why they played in this tournament as well.

Just as with the "9th region" freshman tournament, it is not really a "REgional" tournament, as in sponsored by the KHSAA. These are basically invitationals and include most teams from the No. Ky. area or at least the three-county area that used to be strictly 9th Region. Not all teams are invted to the freshman tourney just as all teams were not invited to this JV tourney. But, that is why you see SK, Scott, etc. in the tournament.

I think SK and Scott should still be in the 9th. It isn't fun having to drive an hour and a half or two just to watch the regional tournament. I'm glad that these teams play their JV and Freshman tourney's up here.
