The Knights of Lexington Catholic started the 2026 season with a 19-6 win over Ballard, an identical score to last year but with reversed victors. Last season’s matchup with Dunbar resulted in a 29-14 Knight win and really started that offensive progression that saw Lexington Catholic dominate throughout the season.

The Knights were deliberate and methodical Friday, using multiple players to rack up yardage, a style that has been their modus operandi the past few years. It will be interesting to see how Dunbar looks to combat that.

For their part, Dunbar is coming off a tough 31-7 loss to South Laurel. Their offense won't get much of a break against a Knight defense that held Ballard to 6.

Lexington Catholic 49-7.
