Central Hardin(22-2): How good are they??

Featured Replies

Just seen where they were 22-2, losing only to ETown and Shelby County. Are they a legit contender for a state title??

No; not from what I've heard by my people in that area. They may struggle to get out of the region.

Here's what I can tell from their schedule: They are 7-1 against other Hardin Co. teams (E-town, N. Hardin, Ft. Knox, John Hardin) and have taken care of business on their schedule. However, I don't read too much into that record against other Hardin Co. teams, because it seems that Central is taking advantage of an overall downtick in the competition in the area.

If they ventured into Louisville a bit more often and put that record on the line, I'd say they are top-25. But as it stands now, they look like the best team in a region that is down compared to recent years.

They are good and have a pretty good scorer in Andre Miller, but I don't think they are a state title contender. I think they are good enough to win their region, but not enough to win a state title.

Thanks for you opinions guys.

From looking at their schedule they don't have a lot of quality wins. I'd give them 6 quality wins at the most....

ETown twice 63-57 & 65-61

John Hardin twice 73-61 & 58-49

Franklin Co. 82-79

Louisville Western 74-59

with Meade County(17-6) being the best opponent still on their schedule

These were the most talented teams that they have beaten IMO, I know not alot to talk about.

The Miller kid is supposed to be a great player, a D-I player potentially.

I saw a little of Central Hardin-Franklin County at the King of the Bluegrass. The Bruins are a solid team, but I don't think that I would put them in the top 25.

If they had beaten Shelby, I might give them the nod.

Etown dismantled Central on their home floor to secure the #1 seed in the district. Based on record Central is the best team....right now. 17th district and 5th Region should be good and quite possibly come down to Etown and Central playing for both titles. Who knows, it's high school tourney time!

I'm not sure how good the rest of the 5th Region is, though. So Central may just need to get past Elizabethtown to make it to Rupp.
