Matt Fraelix dropped 45 on the Blazers tonight as Caldwell sweeps the season series.

UHA may have the most talent of any team in the 2nd Region but their chemistry is horrible.

 

There's no way Caldwell matches up position by position, but by playing hard, scrapping for every loose ball and knocking down open shots, they're able to not only compete but beat teams like UHA.

 

Oh, and it helps to have a Matt Fraliex score 45. But the other kids know their roles too.

 

Hopson had 29 but his effort and intensity comes and goes. Like Randolph Morris, if someone doesn't throw him the ball, he stops playing.

 

Not sure how the rest of the season will play out, but someone's going to need to play awfully well to take out the Tigers.

I just wish Caldwell County would have been eligible for the All A Classic. I would have loved to seen a Caldwell-Bishop Brossart semifinal. The clash in styles would be classic.

How much does UHA miss Josh Mack?

Mack would handle the ball and get it where it needs to go, and he would give UHA another fine player. Depth isn't one of the Blazers' strong suits.

UHA has gotten poor PG play all year. They look the best IMO when they play Edmondson the PG.

 

The 6'11 transfer (Ryan Langhi) hasn't lived up to the hype. He's only averaging 3 rebounds a game and maybe that many points. Teams have used their quickness and athleticsm to make him a nonfactor in games.

In the games I've watched UHA, they often push the ball up the floor offensively and not run a set play, but rather take quick shots and that alone, doesn't allow for rebounding position from the post. Langhi often times is setting screens, or high/low roles and then UHA, pushes the ball up the floor. Offense, must be ran inside/out, for this group to be effective.

 

More kick-out stle RB's, will be afforded and unless the shooting % is up, hard to get any offensive boards early in the game. Edmondson shot can be a little flat at times, but I feel he's best suited at 2-guard.

When UHA looked at the 06-07 season they had 2 players penciled in as starters or exleast quick ones off the bench.

 

6'3 (F) Chris Evans who transferred to Hopkins Central last year. Keller has said if he was still there he would give them that true inside presence that their lacking.

 

6'3 (G) Shaquille Wilson who was dismissed from UHA last year. He's been the starting SG for Christian Co. the entire season. Good size and potential and a true 3-point shooter.

Their UHA's only proven playmakers who can create their own shots. Been a lot of times this year when others have forced the issue and not made the extra pass or correct read.

Both are talented players, and UHA would be one of the most talented teams in the state if Evans and Wilson were still there. Of course, the chemistry could be as screwed up as it appears to be now, or even worse.

There have also been plenty of times that Hopson, for whatever reason, pouts and sulks and loafs and gives his team far less than 100 percent effort. If I was one of his teammates, I might think twice about giving him the ball, too.
