The Double Deuce Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 What a week it was for Northern KY Girls Basketball last week!!! Mother Nature cooperated; our teams are scattered all over the state representing us very well, and we have two Tournament Championship games today involving three of our NKY Top 10 teams -- LOVE THIS! Some big results last week, and a bit of a head-scratcher (although that team has come off the mat like you'd expect them to) as well. Notre Dame knocked off Cooper on the Hill, and the Camels went out to Union and beat the Raiders. Then, to kick off the Queen of the Commonwealth, Notre Dame dropped one to Central that I'm sure they'd like back, even missing a couple of starters. Cooper has done what they always do at Bullitt East this time of year and that is win games! In the Gateway Classic at MoCo today, the Championship Game will be two locals, with the Camels and the Holy Cross Indians doing battle for the hardware -- that one won't be for the faint of heart. Also, quick mention about a very cool event at Thomas More University next Sunday, the 28th. Coach Brian Neal has put together the Crosstown Catholic Challenge with four games (2:00, 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00) on Sunday, so if you're looking for something fun to do next Sunday, pop over to TMU for some good hoops. State power Assumption will be in the 6:00 game versus the PaNDA's -- that game will be terrific! Have the most amazing Christmas, safe travels to our teams heading back home this evening, and thanks for following along this year! 1.
