63rd District Draw

Tuesday, February 27 -- Russell vs Raceland

Championship Game -- Friday, March 2nd at 7pm

Texas Death Match, Duck??? Let's make some predictions.

Tough draw for the Rams, will take a monumental effort to pull the upset. GCHS over Lewis in a blowout.

That makes what? About the tenth time Russell and Raceland will play this year.

Talent wise Greenup is better, but Coach Hampton at Lewis will not get blown out on his home floor in the district. Greenup thought they would blow them out last year in the district.

Amen Big! When Lewis was in the 62nd district I can always remember teams dreading the Lewis draw because regardless of his season record, he was always ready come tourney time. The '03-'04 season is a perfect example. Lost 10 or 11 games in the regular season, comes out and wins the district (at Lewis Co I might add), beats Rowan Co in the opening round of the region and then loses in double overtime to Ashland! Never count out Joe Hampton's ability to have a team ready for the post season!

If seeding has passed, I heard a clever coach, sometimes known as Mr March, suggested using the "Cubster's Poll" as a tool to decide seeding.

Sadly seeding was voted down once again.

You do make a good point here Slick. I just have a gut feeling that with all the controversy at GCHS and their program this year that they will come together with a "something to prove" attitude. Lewis is always tough at their place and could win it but imo the GCHS kids/team will want to make a statement.

That sounds good from your prespective but I guess that the other voters don't put much if any credit in what cubster has to say. :sssh: :D

That would never happen. It would be too biased, using one man's opinion to set the seeding. I would think that man may end up one hated individual among area coaches if their post season play depended on his opinion. Perhaps using many polls across the state...

Not too sure I like idea of seeding...

I think he was joking, besides Cubster would always help the highest bidder!:D :D

It is a pity that the "Texas Death Match" between Russell & Greenup didn't materialize in the opening round. I always like to see Russell and Raceland make it to the regional.

Russell by 11+ vs Raceland

Greenup by 12+ vs Lewis

Russell by 8+ vs Greenup

The Duckster's pre-season picks are looking good!!!

1. Russell:fire:

2. Elliott Co

2. Ashland

4. Rowan Co (I still believe they will be a very tough out in Morehead)

^ not sure but I believe the 64th is seeded.
