Ballgame. Russell rolls, 35-6.

The district title stays on the hill.

Boy was my coin wrong. Definitely not a coin toss game.  Congratulations to the Red Devils!

I voted for Russell in the poll, but that was mostly due to my tendency to pick my school in a game that I think will be close.

I had a feeling East would bully the Devils in the trenches, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Russell won the line of scrimmage both ways. They (barely) outgained the Raiders on the ground, which no sane person would have predicted before the game.

It helps that East is very one dimensional against a competent defense. It's Yoak behind a big o-line and little else.

Russell's team quickness stood out, as the Raiders are sorely lacking in that department.

Congrats to the Devils on a second straight district title. Breathitt will be a handful next week on the road, but it's another momentum building opportunity for the playoffs. Last night's version of Russell is a force to be reckoned with that can contend for a region title this year.
