Went about as expected. Barren County did throw the ball more than I predicted but it was a heavy dosage of Daylan Thomas all night. Byrd made some timely catches and created a couple turnovers on defense. The QB play from BC just fluttered when it was needed the most, I enjoyed the effort from the young man though nothing to be ashamed about. Greenwood was shaky per usual offensively, Chaney stepped up when they needed him to seal it for them late. The defense let up a couple of long drives, one ended in the endzone and another through the uprights. They’ll have to tighten things up if they want to compete with the Purples in a couple of weeks but the resilience this evening can be applauded. Was a fun game. 

Barren was in control up 10 with 3 and some change left in the third and then allowed a kickoff return for a touchdown from Greenwood and quite frankly the guy didn’t even seem that fast. And then up 3 with about 5 minutes left in the game the QB over threw a wide open receiver that would’ve been a touchdown. This led to a punt which Greenwood took down to take the lead. And then had another chance with about a minute and a half left in the game but turned it on downs at GW 30 on some poor play calling in my opinion. I can’t really understand why you would be running under center in a two minute offense the shotgun just gives you more time to find your receivers. Look I get it they run the Wing T but you can’t put in a two minute offense with the game on the line. Overall I really believe Barren gave this game away and I don’t think GW has any chance against BG.

I feel for Barren County in this game.  They played well enough to win IMO.  Just couldn't make a handful of plays to seal the deal.  Barren "may" now draw to go to Madisonville in round one.  No reason Barren can't go there and play very very well.  Keep grinding Trojans!

I expect Greenwood to come into the BG game sky high and play with alot of emotion especially early.
