Elder (OH) 26 Covington Catholic 23 (OT) (JV)

From what I was told Cov Cath tied the game up with a 26 yard Logan Zembrodt field goal at the end of regulation. In overtime the Colonels had first possession and made it down to the 2 but were unable to score. In the subsequent Elder offensive possession Cov Cath's defense kept Elder out of the endzone for the next three plays but the Panthers won with a field goal on 4th and goal.

Scoring ~

E | 9 • 7 • 7 • 0  | 3 > 26

C | 0 • 8 • 0 • 15 | 0 > 23

Just sat through the livestream, which didn't cover the OT FG. h/t CWB.

Quick notes ~

• Colonels: QB Courtney is very good - 3 TD passes and quick on his feet. Defense, TE/WRs (Cogswell, Reardon, Miller), and Zembrodt kicking showed well. Couple of nice 2 point conversions.

• Panthers: Solid GCL football in all phases, especially run defense, top notch each - QB, RB, and E. Elder can chew up some clock.

• As colonel-fan is fond of saying, "there are some things that need to be cleaned up." Q1, center snap went for a safety. Q4, two TD passes called back in Q4 on penalties - in both cases Courtney had completions on the very next play.

? Looking forward to the JV livestream next Saturday for the SK game.

Agreed. Good athlete and the ball jumps off his hand. He's not close to being physically developed either. He's about 15 pounds of muscle in the off-season away from really making people notice.
