East kicks off, ball downed at the 34. Not giving Bullitt a chance to run the kickoffs with squib kicks. Bullitt looks frustrated. Breakdown in coverage leaves receiver wide open in the right flat. Gain to the 40. QB scrambles to the 34. Coverage much better. QB running for his life again first left the reverses field to right, has to dump. Tackle for loss on handoff!4th and 2. Recurring theme. Bullitt QB scrambling again, picks up 1st down at the 23. Next play, good coverage again, has to roll left and throws out of bounds right before sack. QB pulls hand off and runs left. Tackled. Bullitt staff wants late hit called, it was borderline. Dump pass underneath brings up 4th and 7. Screen stopped short of first down. Turnover on downs. 

First okay Wright breaks free over left tackle!  Big gain of about 14! Next play straight up the middle for 2. Nice play calling tonight by East. Bullitt wants a TO to settle down. Bullitt D is already gassed or frustrated. Seeing quite a few taking knees. Next play on 2nd and 8 is a TD brought back by holding on the outside by WRinthink #6 got called for it. Brings back a 60+ yard TD. Oooof. Officials talking over ball placement. Screen to the right gains 5 3rd and 4. Slant for first and then fumbled! O lineman picks up and rumbles another couple yards!  Crossed midfield to the 48. Wright tackled for a loss of 5 on quick penetration by NG. Tiny kid but quick. Little counter gains loss back plus another yard. 3rd and 8. Offsides Bullitt. 3rd and 5ish. Wright tripped up after gain of 2. Call it 4th and 2, East going for it. No good. Crashed the middle and dropped the FB for no gain. Bullitt ball. 40 yard line 60 yards to go to tighten this game up. 

Screen dump to the left gain of 9 off a missed tackle. Up the middle for 3 and a first down. Leaked receiver out to the left wide open down to the 17 yard line. D continues to miss wrs and big sack!!! Dropped back at the 26!!  Refs say 24. Check down to the right.  Brought down for a 1 yard gain. East D is blowing up the O line of Bullitt and constant pressure in face of QB. Missed pass down right sideline brings up 4th and 17. TO for Bullitt. Wants to talk strategy.

Kickoff is caught at the 24 and cross field return brought down at 32. First play good coverage on the roll out to the right Bentley has to throw it away. 2nd and 10 play screen for a rumbling stumbling zig zag TD!  Flag on the play way downfield at the 21 is called a block in the back by East. Brings back to the 31. Not a great call but I can see how it happened. Lots of bumping around on the zig zag run. Next play check down to the left dropped because it was slightly behind Wright. 2nd and 10 run, Wright had room but ran into his O lineman and dropped for a small 1 yard loss. Crossing route for 1st with extra tacked on after the catch on a late hit out of bounds by Bullitt. Just too obvious for the ref not to flag. Morton powers to the 5! Hall broght back for penalty 20 yard TD pass with no time on the clock!!!! Bentley is lighting Bullitt up! Goes for 2 and it’s good! 37-20 heading to the 4th 

At the start of the 4th, marked difference between sidelines. East staff looks dialed in, Bullitt looks a little frantic. Two quick plays by Bullitt facing 3rd and 3 now. Dump on a crossing route underneath for the 1st. Run up middle for 4 on a quick snap. Roll out to right, pass dropped along sideline. 3rd and 6. Offsides called on East. Not sure what happened. 3rd and 1 now. Big #40 over left tackle for the first down. Late sun by the D, but player drops. Getting checked out by East trainers. Cramps. 1st and 10 from midfield coming up as he goes to sideline. QB airs it out down the right on a post, overthrows WR badly. 2nd and 10 coming up. DE lined up offsides. QB running for his life to his right. Dumps to WR posted up at the line of gain for a first down. East jumps the crossing route over the middle, not intercepted but broken up. 2nd and 10 jailhouse blitz! Dropped for a loss of 7!  3rd and 17 coming up. Ohhhh! Overloaded pursuit. QB smells it. Keeps for big gain down left side to the 20. Scrambles to his right, wide open receiver drops the ball. Pass was high and a little hot thrown back across his body. TD pass follows. WR got separation in the end zone for the catch. PAT is muffed, kicker scrambles for 2. 37-28 with 9:01 left on the clock. 

Bullitt has energy again. East needs to grind out a drive and let the D rest. Time to hand off to Wright, Morton and Naylor and control the clock. 

Tried onside kick, but offsides so brought back 5 yards. Inside again, recovered and dropped immediately at the 49. East ball in Bullitt territory. #10 bulls ahead for 6. 2nd and 2, up gut now 3rd and 3. Fake handoff and dump pass broken up. East going for it on 4th and 3. Tries drawing offsides. Now calls time to talk it over. 

Out of the timeout, East going for it. 7:42 left in game. Fumbled snap. East recovers but turns over on downs at the 42. 7:42 on clock. No time ran off. Hmmm. Bullitt checks down to in motion RB, dropped for a loss of 4 and he’s injured. Trainers out to look at him. Big tackle by #4, hard hit but wrapped up nothing dirty just a football play. Trying to see injured player number. It’s #46. Looks like left leg he’s limping but walking off under own steam. Pocket collapses and qb takes off again. Ball at midfield now. 3rd and 1. Coverage outstanding. QB dives for line of gain. They give it to him. Very close. First down. 7 minutes in game. Pocket collapses again. Dumps to back gain of 7. Chased again, dumps high arcing pass, back dropped for a loss of 4. 3rd and 5. Pass to the right stopped after gain of 3. 4th and 2 coming up. Quick slant to 13. Caught. First down at the 32. Clock into 5 minuets now. Penetration again qb takes off. No one to his left and out of bounds at the 17. Scrambles again and pushed out at the 7 yArd line. TO East. QB is the only offense for Bullitt, sadly. He’s a talent. True dual threat. Not a cannon for an arm but very good. 

Out of the TO, East changes front to 3 man and drops 8. Ends up bringing 5. PSs caught and the 4. Pass broken up after pocket collapses again. 3rd and goal. Keeper to the left and chased down for a loss of 4. 4th down at the 8. Going for FG now. BLOCKED!!! Crashed right up the middle. Big block. East ball with 3:40 on the clock. Big D stand. 

Ball out to the 20 where East takes over. East keeps it on the ground up the middle for 2. 2nd and 8 taking time to get play in. Clock down to 3. Another handoff. Over Lg for 2 more. 3rd and 6. East lineman is down, stopping the clock. O line coach out to check with trainers. It’s 28. He’s hopping off field. Looks like left ankle. So it was FB not O line. . 2:27 on clock. 3rd and 6. Offsides Bullitt. 3rd and 1 now. Up gut no gain. 4th and 1 with 1:53 on clock. TO taken. I missed who took it, likely Bullitt. If so it’s their last I think. 

Out of the timeout, East will be going for it. 1 formation with 3 wide. Wright breaks loose over LG spot for huge gain to the 41!  Personal foul on Bullitt. Victory formation for East as they will kneel it out!!

37-28 final, East Jessamine defeats Bullitt Central to start year 1-0. Lots of good for East, lots of things to work on. Good teach tape. Happy bus ride home for the boys and back to work on Monday.
