Good win for the Bobcats.

Hope to see the bobcats put the right pieces together in order to make a run come tournament time.

I also went and watch this game and thought it was a very poor call game. At the end of the game when the Haye's kid got the rebound he was call over the back after he shot the ball. Coach Bank's seem like he got very upset but from what i could see handle his self well. The Smith kid from what i could see, from where i was sitting had red mark's all over his arms. Seems like a couple of knott co. player's was cheap shoting him and trying to get him to lose his cool which he just about did, but Bank's took him out for a few moment's to cool him off and it work, and that was a good move by his coach. Overall anytime you go to knott co. and come out with a victory you have done something. Knott Co. has a pretty good team with aot of hustle which you have to have when you don't have aot of size.

I was a spectator at the Breathitt and Knott game, and I have watched the bobcats play several games early in the season. I couldnt figure out why #32 I believe Combs is his name didnt get much playing time. He started the game but didnt play half the game, it seemed to me when Combs is in the line up the Boncats is a much stronger team.... Did this Kid get into Trouble or something??? Does anyone know why he played limited minutes????

I also was trying to figure out why he didn't get to play more down the stretch. He is a good defensive player and a strong rebounder. If the lineup I mentioned earlier was consistently in the game, I believe that Breathitt could not only play with teams, but could pull away from most teams. Knott is an ok team, but Breathitt with the talent they have, should be able to soundly beat a team of this caliber. If they want to have a chance to play down here in Lexington some lineup tweaking could be in order.

I finally got a chance to get out of the bluegrass for the weekend and watch the bobcats. Their play was unimpressive early on. I have been talking about the young Fugate kid for Breathitt all season. I got to the game and was surprised to see that he didn't get a starting nod. Knott jumped up to an early lead and then Fugate got in the game. Breathitt seemed to play better and got right back into the game, the kid is a strong ball handler and sees the court well. He seemed like he was strong enough to make court length bullet passes. Noble is talented, but seems not to have the strength to make long passes on the fast break. When Breathitt utilizes the big Smith kid inside, gets Hollan open for jumpers, and utilizes Fugate's driving ability they are tough to beat. From watching the talent levels of these kids it seems like the best starting lineup would be Hollan, Fugate, Hayes, Combs, and Smith and having Noble, Allen, and Ritchie come off the bench. It seems with that lineup out there the bobcats would be really tough. JMO

You said that you finally got to watch the bobcats, so I assume this is the first time you saw them play. I was just curious how you could determine the strengths and weaknesses of the players, the best starting line up, and the best three kids to come off the bench by just watching a team play one time. Did you see these freshman play last year as eighth graders? I know Fugate went to a Perry Co. school and the others were at S.M.S. Just curious

I beleieve the Junior class playing for the Bobcats riight now actually won the state tournament, and the freshman class playing this year got beat in the championship game.....I dont know but I believe there is one BIG step between middle school ball and highschool ball.....I have watched highschool ball for many years and in my opinion you have to keep your horses and use your ponies when needed.....I believe the upper classmen playing for Breathitt County is just a little stronger and better players right noww....dont get me wrong i have seen many freshmen play this year and Breathitt County is right there with the top in the region

This isn't the first time I have got to watch the bobcats, I just haven't been able to catch all of the games. I also keep in touch with several people in Jackson knowledgable about basketball. I got a chance to watch the these Freshman as 8th graders down here in Lexington. I went to the state AAU tournament to catch some of the SMS games and also got a chance to watch Fugate, since they said he was probably coming to Breathitt. It was at this tournament where I realized the Fugate kid was a player. SMS also had a talented squad and competed well as a team. I have been around the game for years and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize talent.
