It is amazing that any GC hoops coach let go never did anything wrong. I always believed in the "where there is smoke there is fire" adage, but I guess not.

The truth is that there was no smoke, but just as smoke screen that was set up by the administrators. As far as Hicks goes I don't know the whole situation, but believe me "Jay" the Ward situation is totally different. So your old adage holds no weight with him as the smoke was merely and illusion created by his detractors.

I think there were smoke screens coming from both sides in that one. Ward was run out on some trumped up charges. That is only because they couldn't catch him up in some other things. There was smoke all over the place at that time. It hid alot of things.

Let's all be careful, with this discussion.

I like Coach Hicks, but I think it is going to be hard to get over all of the negativity. If he can get the team to band together with a "us against the world" mentality he may pull it off. A trip to Morehead would heal a lot of wounds.

 

I don't know why a trip to Morehead would particularly help. Randy Ward took them to Morehead almost every year, not to mention on to Rupp, and politics still cost him his job. That system is really screwed up.:argue:
