Barker will play somewhere at the next level, he has the biggest HEART in the region, and you are fighting a loosing battle if you think bringing Barker down elevates another player, your wrong. Barker has probally won as many games in his career as anyone in the region and is probally the smartest player in the region. Thats why he gets the recognition he does, and Coaches love him because of his work ethic.

I believe you were the one who started disrespecting him first. There is more to being a top 5 player than height, weight, and stats. It is called heart and leadership and Alex has all these qualities and more that make him a complete player.

 

I wasn't disrespecting him. I was trying to go back to talk about the GAME. There have been many players that have came through the Region who played with heart, intangibles, and leadership and they were never in the Top 5.

Like I said before I'm not denying anything he does on or off the court.

If I were a coach, I would love to have a player like him.

If you weren't, it could have been easily taken as such! Good win for Fairview.

I bet it was one worth watching. I love a good close game, makes it interesting for the fans.

Please let’s forget about this Wolfenbarker, Barker debate garbage and get back to the real story here, the abysmal situation at GC. Apparently the pressures are taking its toll on the Musketeers and with an apparent loss coming to the boys from Lloyd this coming Friday against Russell, the wheels are officially off. The truth is the administration has made the situation worse by not making any kind of solid decisions on the coaching situation. Needless to say there are factions on this team and the acting "coaches" have lost control of the little bit of control the head coach previously had over this combustible team. Here’s to maybe seeing the once proud Musketeer Basketball Program thrive again (I hope as this GC Alum hates to see what’s happening now). I’ll leave you with this, it took the tireless effort and love of one man for 20 years to bring GC basketball to a top tier program, look at what little time it’s taken to destroy it.:mad: :fight:

 

As for the comments about Barker, I'll counter by saying that he has gotten the absolute most out of his gifts that any kid in the 16th Region has. To say that he is overrated is pretty steep. He is the backbone of a very young team, and I doubt that any coach in the 16th Region wouldn't love to have him on his team.

Like I said in another thread...............Suddenly a trip to "Hooters" restaraunt and a trip to the Sweet 16 doesn't seem so bad does it. That was a comment in a letter to the editor to te daily Indendent by a GCHS fan. I thought that it was a classic.:lol:

Although I'm obviously not A GCHS fan it needs to be remembered that a vital cog(Middleton) has been missing the past two games.I believe he is the second leading scorer and any team would be "hurting" without a main component.
