Both teams were 8-1 during the regular season, with the Flyers taking their only loss on September 9th when George Rogers Clark came and beat them 18-14 at home. GRC's single loss came on October 7th when they traveled to Paul Laurence Dunbar and were sent home with an eyebrow-raising 37-18 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs.

The championship game, along with the 3rd place consolation game, will be played on Saturday, Oct 26th at Paul Laurence Dunbar, whose varsity coach Wes Johnson took the bull by the horns and created the CKFL at the beginning of this season.

This game will kick off at 11:00am.

@Big Things Kentucky will be providing a video livestream for both games in the championship series on Saturday.

Looking forward to #BigThings in the future from The Central Kentucky Freshmore League this was fun.

This is the first time I have heard of a freshmore league.  Have schools gone from freshman, junior varsity, and varsity to freshmore, junior varsity, and varsity?

I think it varies school to school. Freshmore/Froshmore teams are an upstart among programs that don't have enough players to field an all-freshman team - especially those in areas where they don't have many locally competing schools that are able to field all-freshman teams either.

Some programs competing in freshmore football only field two teams:
- Freshmore JV: Comprised of freshman and sophomore players, occasionally with some eighth graders included at times. No juniors are allowed.
- Varsity: Comprised of sophomore, junior and senior players, with occasional freshman players.

Some programs competing in freshmore football will have three teams:
- Freshmore: Comprised of freshman and sophomore players, occasionally with some eighth graders included at times. No juniors are allowed.
- JV: Comprised of sophomore, junior and senior players, with occasional freshman players.
- Varsity: Comprised of sophomore, junior and senior players, with occasional freshman players.

From what I've seen, most of the programs that do have three teams - including a froshmore - tend to play a more limited JV schedule, jockeying players to and from the freshmore squad onto JV. A lot of that will be dictated by who does or doesn't play in their varsity games, since there's an (8) quarters of football per-week rule with the KHSAA, counted from Friday through the following Thursday.

A single down played in a quarter counts as a full quarter of football played, so if a player rotates in for a handful of plays in the 3rd and 4th quarters of the varsity game on Friday night, for example, then that means they have (2) quarters of play used up for the week, and are still eligible to play all (4) quarters of either Saturday's JV game or the following Freshmore game during the week. A freshman or sophomore player could hypothetically spread the (8) quarters of play out between three separate games in a week, but in most cases the coaches wouldn't usually want a player who is making varsity time end up missing two full practices to play in lower-level games.
