Leslie County 36 Danville 3

Featured Replies

Leslie County (5-2, 1-0) defeats Danville (0-7, 0-1), putting the Ads on a running clock for the second straight week.  The Ads did break a 19 quarter scoreless streak when Kaleb Wilcher hit a 30 yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.

There were some positives for the Ads in that they were able to move the ball more than previous games.  They had more than 100 yards of total offense at the half.  However, they hurt themselves with some turnovers and bad snaps.  They had two bad snaps on their first drive that resulted in a safety, which set in motion Leslie piling up some scores as senior quarterback Landry Collett threw for three touchdowns.  The Ads didn't get flagged a lot, though, which was also positive.  However, a holding call nullified a big run by Jutayvion Beasley early that could have made the game more competitive.

Things do not look good for the Ads to earn a win this year looking at their remaining schedule.  Somerset (4-3, 1-0) will be visiting next week.  That will be former head coach Clay Clevenger's return to Danville.

Leslie County will host Breathitt County (2-5, 0-1) next week.  If Leslie wins, it could set up a matchup with Somerset for the district title (if Somerset beats the Ads).

16 points in 7 games.  Wow!!
