Providence (IN) at Louisville Holy Cross Predictions/Updates

In week 2 we have a border state matchup with a top 10 class A team from Indiana in Providence(1-0) against a top 10 class A team from Kentucky in Louisville Holy Cross(0-1).

Providence started their season with a 13 to 2 win over Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Louisville Holy Cross started their season with a very competitive tough loss to North Bullitt 32 to 29 in which most people would say was a mild upset.

These two teams met last season with Providence rolling to a 47 to 10 win. It won't be different this year as Providence is just a very good team abd the better one in this match up.

11:12 to go in the first quarter Interception by Lincoln Kruer returned for a TD and XP is good.

Providence leads 7 to 0.

End of first quarter Providence leads 7 to 0. Both offenses having a very difficult time moving the ball so far in this one. I'm extremely impressed with Providence on Defense especially their Defensive line.

Louisville Holy Cross got the ball on their own 2 yard line and had a 8 minute drive picking up 5 first downs to get it to the Providence 25 yard line but then a huge sack by Providence backs Holy Cross up and they ended up with no points and having to punt. Defensive battle here as Providence leads 7 to 0 with 3 minutes until halftime.

With 16 seconds to go in the half QB Jerek Hoover for Holy Cross connects on a 18 yard TD pass to Jamari Pennebaker. XP is good. We are tied at 7 to 7 at the half.

Louisville Holy Cross has outplayed Providence in this first half. They just made the one early mistake in the first half where Providence got the pick 6 but Providence has done absolutely nothing on offense and did not even pick up a single first down. I predicted Providence to win this one fairly easy and after watching the first half I think I made a bad prediction.

With 8:48 to go in third quarter Providence QB Preston Kempf rushes for a 27 yard TD. XP is good Providence leads 14 to 7.

Providence has long drive halted by a fumble on the Holy Cross 15 yard line recovered by Holy Cross. Then 2nd play from scrimmage Holy Cross fumbles and turns the ball over giving it right back to Providence. 1:12 to go in third Providence up 14 to 7 and threatening for more here.

Providence has came out a very different team in this third quarter and playing very more inspired than they did in first half. This is more of what I expected from them.

With 34 seconds left in the third Providence adds another TD as Preston Kempf throws a 10 yard TD pass to Nick Stoner. XP is good. Providence leads 21 to 7 at the end of the third quarter.
