South Warren at Central Hardin (Scrimmage) (8/15)

First team played pretty well in the first half for CH. Too many mistakes in the second half. SW QB throws a pretty ball and has some playmakers at the receiver position.

Got to go to the first half of this scrimmage and sit next to my friend @Hardin County Preps.  Always good to hang out with people that love high school football.

For Central Hardin, I really like their QB.  He was big physical and surprisingly elusive at times.  He made some good plays and would have made more but QBs were not live for this scrimmage which I certainly support not getting anyone hurt in a scrimmage.

The Bruin OLine (and DLine too for that matter) are pretty big.  They won't out-quick you, but they make you play honest and held a good South DLine at bay for the most part.  Problem is the South linebackers just sat on the run for the most part and when the DLine ate up the blockers not much left to take on the LBs.

I will say the Central passing game has promise.  I think I've been to a small handful of Central Hardin games and I saw more passing in one half of scrimmage than all those other games combined, which I think bodes well for their future.  I think this team can progress this season.  Good luck to them and see you on September 20 vs BG.

For South Warren, they have some new OLine and Dline guys and they look the part and did a really good job.  QB Button was solid as always.  Their skill guys were serviceable, but am really wanting to see how they do against a team like Ballard.  South were missing a few guys on defense I'm accustomed to seeing, but did a good job overall suffocating the Central run game.

Going to be interesting to see how next Friday plays out for both these teams.  Central vs GRC and South vs Ballard.

It was great to meet up with you again Purple88. Hopefully the Central Hardin team of the first half comes out to play vs GRC and not the second half team that lacked execution and made too many mistakes on both sides of the ball.
