The Wildcats reached 7-0 last year and a season high #7 in 3A before dropping a few hard fought battles down the stretch, including a three point defeat to Hart County for the district title. The district was the deepest in the class in 2023, and could be in 2024, as well. There are impact graduation losses to be addressed, but the Wildcats should be in the thick of it once again.

HC Max Chaney entering his 5th year at the helm, the first few years were rough and when the team seemed to look back to typical Simpson county form the entire western part of 3A decided to be good as well. The trenches have always been a staple of this program and that’s why they’ve notoriously been competitive for decades and it will be no different this year. Look for SR Colin Anderson to have a breakout year for the Wildcats, posting 85 carries for 696 yards and 5 TDs last season I believe he is capable of doubling or possibly tripling that production offensively.

A favorable schedule for this Franklin Simpson team, I see a couple of toss up games with Glasgow and Greenwood, but even after losing a magnificent SR class, I can see them hosting a playoff game and finishing the year 8-2. Best of luck this season!
