Solid win for the Red Devils tonight in Morgan County. Russell led by Scott Gill and Austin Robinson who combined to shoot 18 for 23 . Russell was

12 for 15 from the free throw line!!

That may set the record!:jump:

Looks like Lee County lost some momentum after some big wins this past week. Lee might have also been looking ahead to next week were they will begin the defense of their All A title.

Well played game by two good teams. Russell had a few more weapons than Lee this evening. Austin Robinson blew up for 29 points on 11-13 shooting I believe. Gill was strong for Russell and it was a surprise to see the Red Devils hitting the 15' shot with nobody in front of them.

Lee County's Danny Wright does a great job and his kids played very hard. #25 played outstanding for Lee.

Russell now gets ready for the stretch run in the 16th....best wishes to both schools.

IMO, this was one of Russell's best efforts of the season. When you can beat a quality out of Region opponent by double figures with your best player (VanHoose) scoring 11, your showing the balance it takes to be a very good team. I thought key to the game was defense in 2nd half by Russell. Played zone all 1st half, went to man to man, Gill shut down their point guard scorer, also great team help defense by everyone. Robinson's energy, as usual, was contagious as he wouldn't be denied and Gill's work on the offensive boards with several putbacks were key. Like the fact that Gill seems to be back on track where he's had 3 of 4 games with 15 or more. Blair played his usual stellar game at the point with few turnovers and strong rebounding.

I think that Lee did an excellent job on being in the face of Vanhoose caught and really keeping him out of the game. It was just the other players for Russell lit them up. Good Win for Russell though....
