In what was a tight game in the first half Augusta went into the second half with with a two point lead. Augusta would put together a complete game and win big in the end. Big free throws at the end of the game by Josh White and Dustin Staggs would prove to be the difference. The brothers White, Shawn and Josh did a good job tonight in setting the game tempo. Good job Shawn in your first Varsity start.

 

Dustin Staggs led Augusta with 21 points 12 boards.

Josh White adds 12 points, 7 from the free throw line.

A good game from Brayde Hamilton with 12 points also

JV Game was also won by Augusta 47 -25

Shawn started for Steven Cummins, Cummins had his nose broken in St. Pat Game. Also with the departure of another player had to help fill two holes.

This is a very big win for the Panthers. This gives them a lot of confidence going into the Class A where they will play Nicholas again on their home floor. Beating them before the class A on their home floor will give them a lot of confidence.

Yeah a guard that normally plays quit after the St. Pat game at home... This player has had a history of quitting, so this is nothing new to the team...

Congrats to the Panthers. Great win in a tough place. Nice job of stepping up by the younger White. They've got another player on the JV I think could help on Varsity too. # 52 (Krebs ?) seems to be consistently scoring 15 - 20 a game. Be a big plus for Augusta to convert those into Varsity points.
