No clue.. You would think everyone would use the same formula though.

Nope. I think it was two years ago the NCAA released the RPI formula and it was nothing close to any of the RPI projections. It's nothing more than a computer formula acting as a voter, really...

Well.....the same site that had the Big East ranked as top football conference (and UL #2, and UM ahead of USC, AFTER the bowls) now has Florida at #32 and LSU at #46 in basketball... :sssh:

:p

That was T-Cats link. But nice try... :bunny:

I can read it by looking at my quote... :p

And from a computer standpoint, it would seem they earned that ranking...

So then the only "true" RPI rankings would be those that you see in the USA Today then? Looking around on the net about every RPI I have found so far is different.

The NCAA uses their own undisclosed method, and the rest are just guessing at what it is...

All I get from all this is everyone's rankings are different, yet equally useless...

Yup.

From watching I would go

1. Pac 10 (the most exciting conference in America)

2. SEC (very close at this point)

3. ACC (might slip depending on how bad BC is hurt by the departures)

4. Big 12 (gaining on the ACC fast)

5. Big East (I'm not even impressed with Pitt at this point)

6. Big 11 (With IU playing as well as they are, I could see them above the BEast)

As I said the Pac 10 and the SEC are very close and both are a good distance ahead of the other major 4.
