Pike County's Bird Of Prey Circling, But Are The Wildcats Playing Possum?

Records: PCC (5-1) | SV (3-3)

BGP Rankings: PCC (#9 in 2A) | SV (#7 in 2A)

Week 7 Results: Both had bye weeks

Series History: Shelby Valley leads 15-11 all-time

Central Figures: Before Week 1 kicked off, Russ Osborne's name was in the conversation for best player in EKY. The season hasn't quite come together for him like it did last year - the four pick night vs. E-Town is one he'd like to forget - but the abilities that inspired the chatter are still there. The arm talent and mobility make him the most dangerous player on the field almost every time Shelby Valley competes. He's led the Wildcats to 59 point scoring outbursts against Pike Central each of the last two years.

Is Pike Central up to the challenge?

The Hawks are one score away from being undefeated, with defense serving as the backbone of the team. They're allowing just 12 ppg so far. Linebacker Malachi Anderson (72 tackles/9 TFL) and defensive end Jayson Chapman (10 TFL/6 sacks) will lead the effort to stifle Osborne.

Defense is an area where Valley needs to pick it up after surrendering 120 points the last two games, both losses.

A win for the Wildcats gets them back on track, while the Hawks are looking for their biggest win in a few years.

Touchdown Shelby Valley!

This is a great, free broadcast.

Shelby Valley 8 Pike County Central 0

630 left in the 1st.

Another TD for SV, this time on a bomb.  The first one was a short pass and a nice run.

Onside kick but PCC recovered at midfield.

Russ Osborne to Brady Bentley on both. That combo can put some stress on PCC's defense. I'm not sure PCC has anyone with big play ability to concern SV.

Not a great throw there from Pike Central and the SV defender jumped the route for a pick-six. Two point conversion is no good.

Shelby Valley looks pretty good.  20 to 0 now.  This could be a running clock.

Scoop and score Shelby Valley.

An eventful first quarter, lol. Everything's going wrong for Pike Central.

28 to 0 SV, still in the 1st.

Shelby Valley with another TD.  I am trading this game out for Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime.

I don't blame you. This one's all but over.
