Southwestern at Pulaski Predictions

Featured Replies

Has the younger Perkins been playing all year for Pulaski?

Mostly after Christmas. He rejoined the team after Thanksgiving.

:fight:

The Perkins brothers played under control; there were no technicals in this game.

I'm not in the habit of complaining about officials, but this game seemed oddly officiated. In it you had:

A. An official that slammed the basketball to the floor and came after a coach to argue, something I don't think I've ever seen.

B. An official call a technical foul on a kid (T Perkins), then have to waive it because there was no reason to call it????

C. An official that hit J Perkins w/ 4 of his 5 fouls, but may have been the furthest official from the plays.

Now, the kicker: It was the same official. Something just wasn't right...

Would it break a rule if you give the officials name?

I talked to a guy from Somerset who was at this game(a S'set fan)and he said that one official appeared to have his own agenda and that Pulaski Co. suffered because of it.

Let's just say it ended up being a GRAY and cloudy day for Pulaski....

I agree everything this guy called was against PC. However all 4 fouls he called on the one player were fouls.

I am a SW fan and last year when PC played Somerset I thought the same thing that PC suffered from this officials calls.

What was he fussing with the coach about?

What was he fussing with the coach about?

Not sure about that.

I think the ref. said something to the player. Coach Flynn told the ref to not talk to his player. The ref slammed the ball down ( NASA predicts it will land back on Earth sometime next week) and walked over to Flynn, where they "discussed" the situation

Let's just say it ended up being a GRAY and cloudy day for Pulaski....

I do not believe the Technical was reversed. SW got two free throws and the ball out of bounds.

The Perkins boys have reputations that preceed them. Fair or not fair they made their own nest. I think those two have as much talent as anyone, however their lack of discipline could continue to hurt them individually and the team as a whole. I love to watch them play untill they begin to lose control. I have probably overstepped my bounds, but as a fan of high school atheletics and one who wants to see kids succeed, it saddens me to see this talent being stained by so many other factors.

Some student athletes do bring troubles upon themselves. If fans want to ridicule those athletes, I suppose that's fine. However, when an official acts in a biased manner towards an athlete and it has an effect on the outcome of a game, something is wrong. Officials are supposed to be, first and foremost, professional.

The Official had no effect on the outcome of the game. SW outplayed PC. SW was ahead by double digits when both perkins fouled out.

I do agree with that statement. Also, the official in question was wrong for his actions. (Slamming the ball on the floor) Very wrong! I have never seen a situation like that in a game.
