Class 5A

1. Bowling Green at #5 Owensboro

2. Scott County at 6A Great Crossing

3. Highlands vs. 4A #3 Covington Catholic

4. Cooper vs. 6A Henry Clay

5. Owensboro vs. #1 Bowling Green

6. Woodford County vs. 6A #10 Simon Kenton

7. Southwestern -- OPEN

8. South Warren vs. 6A Henderson County

9. Greenwood vs. 4A #9 Warren East (at Barren County)

10. Fairdale vs. 6A Fern Creek

A bye week already? Southwestern got 2 weeks to prepare for South Warren off of a 7 point loss to Ballard, watch out Spartans.

Bowling Green at the one spot after letting up 800 yards just doesn't feel right, but I do still believe they are the best team in 5A. A week of not being at the top spot would've made the football gods happy, now everybody has to practice in horrendous weather this week.

Curious to see if Woodford County is able to bounce back against a solid Simon Kenton ball club.

I have faith in Coach Spader improving the BG defense drastically in the coming weeks.  Look forward to seeing how they fare against Owensboro.

I like Woodford's chances to bounce back here. I'd say if they can't beat SK they shouldn't be in the top 10. SK should have lost by two or more scores if not for a 2nd half implosion of discipline via penalties by their last week opponent.
