Final from Lincoln County’s Patriot Classic.  Parity is running the show in the 12th region.

Yes they do.  A lot of good young players in our region! 

Wayne led wire- to- wire. Punched DCA in the mouth early. 

Have to say that I’m really surprised by this score. Seems to me that DCA should win that game by 15+.

Probably right, from a personnel standpoint but when a legend is on the other sidelines can’t count that team out! 

If you keep DCA away from the rim (easier said than done) several of our region teams can beat them.  Collectively, they don’t shoot it well from 3.  Wayne packed the paint with a sagging M2M defense and forced contested jump shots.

Completely agree with this. A soft man or 2/3 zone is pretty effective against DCA. They’re content to settle if you give them those looks. If you play them aggressive man or try to play up-tempo, that plays into their strengths. 
 

On offense, you have to be able to knock down the three or have two bigs that can score. Obviously, Wayne can knock down the three.

So, credit to Wayne for the correct game plan on both sides of the ball.

Wayne County also forced DCA to swap their defense around about 2 minutes into the ball game. DCA's initial zone Wayne picked apart early and got a 7-0 jump. The Phillips boys were extremely good. Hard to believe Farmer is only a freshman, he will be scary good when he gets older.
