Grant Co. makes the trip down to "The Farm" to take on the #1 ranked team in 5A the Broncos of Frederick Douglass. This is a bad game for both teams but the district is what it is. The Braves come into the game at 0-6 and have the 2nd worst RPI in 5A. The Braves lost at home last week to district opponent Montgomery Co. 48-22. The Braves and Broncos have played 2 times they did not play last year as Grant had to cancel due to Covid. In their two previous meetings the Broncos have won by scores of 54-0 and 64-0.

Frederick Douglass (6-0) is coming off a big win at Scott Co. where the defeated the Cardinals in dominating fashion 41-0. The Broncos have running clocked all of their opponents that they have actually played this season. Their defense once again put up another stellar performance. They held the Cardinals to only 96 total yards and 64 of those were on their last drive when Douglass had put in reserves. Scott had 96 yards rushing and 0 yards passing. The Bronco defense is allowing only 4.8 points per game. Their offense is averaging 51.6 points per game. I look for another big win for Douglass with a running clock before halftime, you just hope no one from either team gets hurt in a game like this one. The game is scheduled to kick at 6:30pm it should probably be over before dark. The game will be on NFHS Network with a subscription.

Game has gone pretty much as expected with Douglass leading 29-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Douglass scored to go up 36-0 with 10 minutes left to go in the 2nd quarter and is now a running clock and is already halftime.
