The Pendleton County game may not be happening. Pike Central coach Ronn Varney said last week that they have "a possibility of a week 1 cancellation and are in need of an opponent."

Going to be a rough year on Buckley's Creek. Pike Central essentially lost 9 of their last 10 games last year if you exclude the Phelps forfeit as being a competition. Their last five games they allowed an average of 56 points per game. The defense simply was rough. The Hawks' D lacked size, speed, or physicality. The only thing that kept Pike Central competitive was their two primary offensive weapons.

PC lost their lightning quick run first QB Boykins to Pikeville. They get Anderson back, but he will struggle to find running lanes against better competition.

It is a possibility Pike Central misses the playoffs this season.
