Dustin Roberts is the new head coach for McCracken County

(hat tip to Joe Tracy on this one)

McCracken is hiring long-time assistant Dustin Roberts.  I had heard through the grapevine that it was down to Coach Roberts and Coach Shumpert, but in the end they decided on Roberts (Bubba Wells was another name that I had heard was consdered).  Coach Roberts has a very close relationship with Coach Brower as I understand it.

I assume not much will change with how the Mustangs play.

Feel free to leave any insight that you have on Coach Roberts.  All that I know is that he is a long-time assistant, and was key for what the Mustangs did with their offense.

I am more familiar with Coach Shumpert, as the Shumpert name in McCracken County and Paducah City Schools is well known. Coach Roberts and Coach Shumpert have been at McCracken County from the git go.

Both guys are top notch guys and really good coaches. Couldn't go wrong with either. Hopefully they keep the staff together.

That coaching staff has been together since the consolidation of that school 9 years ago. Smart of McCracken to keep that job "In House" and reward those coaches. . Each year those teams at McCracken are very good fundamentally and prepared. McCracken has been the gold standard of Region 1 not just in wins but they do things the right way. I would expect that to continue as a top class program.

Player wise, they lose a few very good players, but they have 3-4 starters back. Hope Hart gets that injury well. His size and shooting make a big difference.
