It's GAMEDAY BABY!!!!  

We might have a great game in store down in Bellevue tonight with reigning State Champion Highlands Bluebirds versus the Wildcats of Newport.

These 2 teams met back on Jan 6th and Brody Benke pulled a Laettner (who I still HATE!) and didn't miss a shot going a perfect 10 for 10 from the field and 1 for 1 on the charity strip.  The final score was a comfortable 84-61 victory for the Birds.

Highlands has enjoyed a nice 5 game winning streak over the Wildcats and none of those games have been close with Highlands winning with a huge average margin of victory of 26 points.

This will also mark the 4th straight District Finals matchup between these 2 teams with Highlands winning the last 2 (2019 & 2020) and Newport winning back in 2018 (which is actually the last time Newport has beaten Highlands).

Another interesting stat is Newport is actually leading the series 10-9 in the last 19 games, after Highlands OWNED Newport from 1999-2009 winning 14 in a row!

I feel like the atmosphere is going to be ELECTRIC tonight....throw out Jan 6th stats, this is going to be a fun battle!
