Paducah Middle Football

The 7th grade team ended their season yesterday as they lost in the semi-finals. The 8th grade team, who are in D2 won and advanced to the state title game next week.

I don't know that many thought both would end up in a top 4 finish when the season started.

The 2023 version of Paducah Middle 8th graders beat Corbin 58-0 this afternoon and will take on Boyle County, who beat Lexington Catholic 18-14. They will be playing for the D2 State Championship.

This is the 3rd straight season Paducah Middle will play in the Championship game, losing the previous 2. This is the 7th straight year playing in at least the semi-finals and that has translated over to the high school level with most of these guys staying together.

After losing the last 2 championship games in a row, 3rd time was the charm. Paducah Middle 8th grade are your D2 State Champions, defeating Boyle County 26-8.

Avery Thompson also picked up an offer from Kentucky as an 8th grader and that's something you don't see a whole lot. He will definitely try to make a mark as a Freshman next season for PT.

What two teams played in the other semifinal?
