Warren East 60 Rose Hill 52

We just played Hart County and they had to play 3 7th garaders not one time did I hear we lost because our 7th graders could not keep up. You play with the hand you are dealt and do the best you can. When I say hundreds I am talking across the country not just Ky. As far as ranking RH came in 2nd in the state and had 3 returning players I would say the rankings were correct for the start of the season. Now as far as here on out it is a different situation.

How do you think those 6th and 7th graders feel when all they read is "we would be better if we didn't have to play them and had older better players". If I was RH I would be thanking them for comming out and giving their best every game.

Say, who's going to be the first to mention last night's excellent officials? And could you explain that technical the RHCS assistant got for standing during a timeout?

Could you explain further? Why would this have happened?

From what I understand, he was told to sit down because only one coach is allowed to be up. At that time Rose Hill was granted a timeout and the asst. coach said he wasn't going to sit down because it was a timeout and he was "T" up. I also understand there were 28 fouls called in the first half.

RickyP is right. One official signaled a full timeout and Coach Euton walked onto the court to speak with him. The girls came to the bench, sat down and the two assistants were standing on the floor. The other official told one assistant to sit down. He did not, but stood and questioned the ref. The ref then told the other assistant to sit down. Both remained standing and were hit with a technical. RHCS fans went ballistic...and rightly so.

A Warren East player was allowed to shoot the free throws and the teams were called back onto the court. The timeout that Rose Hill called and was initially granted was taken away. It was, to say the least, a bizarre incident, but fairly typical of the way the two officials handled the entire game.

When asked for an explanation afterwards by the scorers table, the official who called the technical said the assistant had threatened him. That was a complete fabrication.

The refs were JV officials and should never have been there. They turned what was an otherwise very competitive ballgame into a confusing and frustrating night for players, coaches and fans on both sides.

How did the guards for East look? I know that they have been working on their shooting and ball handling to take some of the pressure off of Rainey but haven't had the chance to catch one of their games yet.

From an online newspaper:

Rose Hill (1-5) --Faulkner 6, Terry 17, Gambill 2, Queen 24, Friley 3.

Warren East (9-2)--Moore 8, Forrest 3, Rainey 30, Bonds 7, Mahoney 6, Briggs 6.

Queen also had 17 boards and handled the ball much of the game for RHCS. I don't have Rainey's rebound totals, but she had a good all around game with several blocks.

Thats good for Queen i woulndn't expect the 6th graders to get the rebounds.:jump:

These 6th and 7th graders you speak of are gonna really have to step up in order for the Hill do go very far. The future looks very dull after this Sr. class

Cootyb25, I am not sure where these hundreds of schools around the country that play 6th and 7th graders are located. There are only two states in the union that allow middle schoolers to play up.

They may take their lumps for a couple of years but then they will be a pretty good team. Remember you are talking about 6th and 7th graders trying to play varsity now.

I used to have an old Ford pickup and once when on my way to a fishing trip, I literally broke the right front wheel off in a hole. Funny thing,,,,that old Ford was a fantastic vehicle, probably the best I've had, but wasn't worth a flip with 3 wheels!

Hey man...who you callin' a wheel?!!

Country Confucius say can't rebound efficiently until old enough to shave leg!:D

BTW, if I were referring to my friends Himmelfarb, Scooterbob, Rickyp, et.al. I'd have only had to use the word "tire" as the referrence.
