BrosefStalin Posted February 27, 2021 Author Posted February 27, 2021 With the win, Beechwood moves to 18-5. NCC falls to 8-7.
statman Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Not completely up to speed on the NKAC Division system, but I was told the win clinched Beechwood's first ever Division II title. Scotty Draud led the Tigers with 36 and 10 rebounds, shooting 11-11 from the charity stripe. Downton added 19 with 7 boards.
Red Tiger 17 Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Congratulations Tiger on the division II title.
statman Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Can we get a moderator to correct the score to read 66-53? Thanks.

Michael Miller's envisioned dream fulfilled!!! Miller moved the Red and White Tigers from Division III to Division II in hopes of elevating the program through tougher competition and a stronger schedule. He took a lot of abuse for it, because the Tigers were rolling merrily along, winning D-III championships on an annual basis. If memory serves me correctly they did not win a D-II game until 2014. NKAC competition is a funny thing. It's there but few people, coaches, teams pay any attention to it, unless you are in contention to win it, then it becomes important to you. NKAC DivII - Beechwood, Brossart, Highlands, Holy Cross, Holmes, NCC, Newport, St. Henry. Lloyd was also a D-II member for most of those years, but dropped out to join a softer primarily 8th Region conference. Congrats to Erik and the Tigers in getting one. Michael Miller would be proud.
