Mustang
Early on, it appeared that the Mustangs would have their way with the visiting Pendleton County Wildcats, opening up a 20-8 lead after a period of play and pushed that lead to 15 in the second period, before momentum climbed in bed with the Cats, who began a gradual resurgence, which resulted in a three point deficit after three, and a two point shortcoming with only 12 seconds to play in the game. The Wildcats who came to town shooting merely 29% from beyond the arc, and managed only 1 of 12 against Scott earlier this week, netted nine of them here on the Avenue of Champions. Brossart countered by hitting 24 of 35 free throws, giving them a 17 point advantage from that venue. Stephen Verst scored a career high 32 points that included four 3-pointers, and Carson Schirmer 16 for the Mustangs. Treyden Thomas led the Cats with 27. Noah Barnard hit five 3-pointers, and Braydon Kidwell three of them , while scoring 13. Brossart moves on to Lewis County Tuesday night where Carson Schirmer (needs six) is expected to become the 19th player in Brossart Boys history to join the 1,000 Points Club. The Brossart JVs won 34-27, their third win in their last four outings. 1
Buckfever
Thought the margin would be a more, but a win is a win. Congrats to verst on game high.
