Perhaps no score in Kentucky was as eye-opening as Rockcastle County stunning Bell County 13-7 on Friday night. The Rockets utilized an opportunistic and hard-nosed defense to stifle Bell County, while playing a ball controlling brand of offense to limit possessions. Bell County averaged a meager 4.3 yards per play and turned it over three times in the process, the Bobcats also failed to punch an offensive score across the goal-line through their vaunted rushing attack for the second time this season.

Garrard County will look to upset the apple cart once more. The Golden Lions can sympathize with Bell, as their only loss on the season came to Rockcastle County as well. Garrard enters off an interesting geographical victory against 5A Breckinridge County.

This will be the fourth meeting all-time. Bell has won all three previous by a combined score of 133-6. Two of the meetings occurred last year as these two teams were District mates for the first time. Bell won the regular season tilt 39-0 and the playoff rebuttal 44-0.

Bobcats get back on track with a win.

Pulling for Perry & the Lions but Dudley gets the bobcats back on track this week.  Bell wins but not as dominating as last year 34-12.

Bell up 6-0 at half. Garrard drove to the one yard line just before half but were stood up at the line at the buzzer. Solid first half from both clubs.

Garrard drives deep into Bell territory but quarterback Montavin Quisenberry was sacked twice and the Lions turn it over on downs.

Bell driving. Starting to win the line of scrimmage. Garrard’s lack of line depth is a problem against teams with size.

Brandon Baker scores from 18 yards out. Two pointer is good. Bell leads 14-0 with a minute left in the third quarter.

Garrard has to punt to start fourth quarter. Bell probably one score away from icing this one. Big stop needed by a Garrard defense that has been solid all night.

Baker runs one in from 44 yards out. Bell County 20-0, halfway through fourth quarter. That may do it.

I’ll say Garrard has a lot of young kids in the backfield, including a freshman at quarterback. The decision making isn’t always great but they have some talent. They’ve had several chances tonight. Would like to see them finish off a drive here.

Welp. Fumble Garrard. So much for that drive.

Bell scores again to make it 27-0. This one is academic now but it isn’t really indicative of the quality of play between both clubs the first three quarters.
