After Southwestern was stopped on downs on their first drive Wayne was forced to punt.  Southwestern went 3 and out on their 2nd drive but the punt pinned the Cardinals inside of their own 10.  Wayne County was able to move it out to around midfield and Braedon Sloan then ripped off about a 45 yard touchdown run.  The Cardinals lead 7-0 starting the 2nd quarter.   A ton of penalties on both sides.  The short prep time really shows. 

Southwestern puts together a nice drive,  all on the ground.  It is finished off by a 1 yard run by Upton.  The extra point is wide right.  7-6 Wayne County 8:00 to go in the 2nd quarter.   

The Warriors made the mistake of letting their squib kick get to Sloan.   He runs it back all the way to the Southwestern 31.  

3 carries by Sloan moves the ball down to the Warrior 7.  He trucked 4-5 tacklers on the last one.   

 

Southwestern manages to stop Weaver at the 1 foot line but promptly throws a wounded duck that is picked off at the Warrior 21.  

Weaver carries it down to the 5  where the Cardinals have it 1st and goal again. 

Weaver completes a nice pass on rollout for a 6 yard touchdown.  The extra point is good.   14-6 Cardinals.   

 

But Southwestern takes the ensuing kickoff all the way back for a touchdown.   The 2 point conversion is good.  14-14 with 1:30 to go in the half. 

14-14 at the half.   Wayne County will receive to start the 2nd half.   Very ragged game so far.   You can tell it was a short preseason.

Southwestern stops a fake punt on the Cardinals first possession and break a 53 yard run on their first offensive play.   They go for 2 and are stopped short.  20-14 Southwestern 10:20 in the 3rd quarter.  

Wayne County takes the opening possession right down the field,  all on the back of Braeden Sloan.  He punches it in from the 3 and the extra point is good.  21-20 Cardinals  7:25 3rd quarter.  

Wayne County just destroyed a Southwestern running back.  The ball popped about 10 feet in the air on the hit.   The Cardinals recover the fumble but hold in the backfield in 1st down and can't pick it back up on the next 3 plays.  Southwestern takes over at the 50 after a Wayne County punt.  Still 21-20.

Southwestern takes it down and scores on around a 20 yard run by Brainerd.   2 point conversion is good. 28-21 Warriors 5:23 3rd quarter.  

Wayne County comes right back down and scores.  Sloan takes it in right up the middle from the 21.  A Southwestern player tackled him about 8 yards deep in the endzone.  No flag.  Several dirty plays by the Warriors.  Extra point is good 28-28 3:52 3rd quarter.
